ChatRadar (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is an independent comparison and review website. By accessing or using our website located at chatradarhq.com (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use our Site.
ChatRadar publishes rankings, Safety Index scores, comparisons, and reviews relating to random video chat platforms operated by third parties. We do not own, operate, or control the video chat services we review or link to. The Site also embeds a live video chat widget powered by third-party technology; see Section 3 below and our Affiliate Disclosure & Disclaimer for details.
2. Eligibility (18+ Only)
This Site is strictly intended for individuals who are at least 18 years of age. By using ChatRadar, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older. If you are under 18, you are not permitted to access or use this Site. We reserve the right to restrict access to any user suspected of being under the required age.
3. Live Video Chat Functionality
The Site provides access to live video chat functionality powered by third-party technology integrated into ChatRadar. We do not own, operate, or produce the live video content transmitted through this technology. All live interactions are generated in real time by independent users of the third-party service, and we are not responsible for the content of those interactions. Use of this functionality is governed by the third-party provider’s own terms, as well as these Terms and our Affiliate Disclosure & Disclaimer.
4. Intellectual Property
All original content on ChatRadar — including our Safety Index scores, comparison tables, rankings, methodology, editorial reviews, text, design, and branding — is owned by us or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, scrape, or commercially exploit this content without our prior written permission.
5. Third-Party Platforms and Services
ChatRadar links to and reviews third-party video chat platforms. These platforms are not owned or controlled by us. We are not responsible for the content or functionality of third-party platforms, the accuracy of information they provide, any interactions between you and those platforms, or any payments, subscriptions, or transactions made on them. When you access a third-party platform, you are subject to its own terms, privacy policy, and community guidelines.
6. Acceptable Use
By using this Site, you agree not to:
- Engage in harassment, abuse, or harmful behaviour toward other users or the ChatRadar team;
- Attempt to exploit, harm, or manipulate other users through the embedded chat widget or any linked platform;
- Record or distribute interactions without consent;
- Use the Site for unlawful purposes;
- Attempt to access, scrape, or reproduce our content without authorisation.
We reserve the right to restrict or block access to users who violate these rules.
7. Affiliate Disclosure
ChatRadar participates in affiliate marketing programs and has a material connection to some of the platforms it reviews and links to. This does not affect the price you pay and does not influence our rankings or Safety Index scores. Full details are in our Affiliate Disclosure & Disclaimer.
8. Payments and Billing
ChatRadar does not process or handle payments. All payments for premium features, subscriptions, or services on third-party platforms are processed directly by those platforms. We are not responsible for billing, refunds, or disputes related to those transactions.
9. No Guarantees
We provide the Site on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee continuous or uninterrupted access, the availability of any specific third-party platform or the embedded chat widget, the quality, safety, or reliability of interactions on third-party platforms, or the accuracy or completeness of our reviews and Safety Index scores. Your use of the Site and reliance on any information provided is at your own risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ChatRadar and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Site, your interactions with other users, the embedded chat widget, or third-party platforms, any loss of data, money, or personal information, or any reliance on editorial content, rankings, or Safety Index scores published on this Site. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Privacy
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We do not control how third-party platforms or the embedded chat widget collect or use your data. Please review their privacy policies before use.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved by good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
If you are a consumer located in the European Union or United Kingdom, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence may also apply, and you may bring claims before the courts of your country of residence.
13. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting to this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Termination
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the Site at our discretion, without notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms.
